LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Meetings scheduled for Thursday and Friday are expected to focus on a proposed arena planned for University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

A coalition of businesses along Maryland Parkway is seeking input from the community on the impact of the arena project.

The meeting is set for Thursday at the Cambridge Recreation Center at 3930 Cambridge Street at 5:30 p.m.

The following day, UNLV is set to host the Nevada System of Higher Education's Board of Regents to discuss the project dubbed "UNLVNow."

The Board of Regents is expected to discuss the university's master plan, which includes whether the "mega-events" center is feasible.

According to the university, UNLVNow, which is a public-private partnership between the school and Majestic Realty, will include a student village as well as a 55,000-seat arena that would host sporting events and concerts.

The project would sit on the northwest part of the UNLV campus.

The meeting is scheduled for Friday at 1 p.m.
