Firefighter luncheon to kick off 11th annual toy drive

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation kick off their busy holiday season collecting toys with a luncheon today at Hennessey's Tavern on Fremont Street.

It is a chance for the community to learn more about the foundation's 11th annual "Fill the Fire Truck" toy drive, in which firefighters from across the valley collect toys for underprivileged children.

The toy drive officially launches Saturday, Dec. 1, but today locals will have the chance to meet some of the sponsors and volunteers of the toy drive, and learn how they can lend a hand to the cause. Organization representatives and partner, the United Citizen's Foundation, will also be recognized.

The lunch is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hennessey's is located at 425 Fremont Street, Suite 1010.
