HUGO, Okla. (AP) -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Las Vegas man is dead after he was struck by a pickup truck while walking down a southeast Oklahoma highway.
Authorities say the fatal collision happened shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 70 near Hugo in Choctaw County. A preliminary report says 38-year-old John Devin Montoya was walking down the middle of the highway's right eastbound lane when he was struck by a pickup driven by a 55-year-old Hugo woman.
Authorities say Montoya was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck's driver was not injured.
