LTE (4G) and Mobile Money - Risk or Reward?
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) November 27, 2012
Today, WeDo Technologies, a leader in revenue and business assurance solutions, announced that they will be attending TM Forum’s Management World Americas 2012 in Orlando, Florida from December 3rd – 6th. WeDo Technologies is participating in the event’s unique Catalyst program, and will have several executives available to demonstrate its industry-leading business assurance solutions.
WeDo Technologies Supports Innovation and Collaboration
WeDo Technologies is a leading contributor to TM Forum's Catalyst program titled ‘LTE (4G) and Mobile Money - Risk or Reward?’ The Catalyst program takes an innovative approach to creating leading-edge solutions through short term projects by providing a neutral collaborative environment and a process for working together to for solving common, critical industry challenges that culminate in live demonstrations at TM Forum’s Management World events and contributions to improving TM Forum best practices and standards.
The ‘LTE (4G) and Mobile Money - Risk or Reward?’ project addresses such concerns as how the rollout of Long Term Evolution (LTE) will change mobile networks, and how telecom operators can better prepare to handle money transfers. It includes insight into how new sources of revenue can also raise the risk of fraud and revenue leakage, and highlights how to best mitigate these risks. IDC Financial Insights’ 2012 Consumer Payments Survey reports mobile payment use nearly doubled this year, a trend that will continue to grow, especially with the increased use of tablets and smartphones.
“WeDo Technologies is a long standing contributor and collaborator with TM Forum’s Catalyst program, leading the release of the Fraud Classification Guide and participating heavily in the Business Metrics Automation program,” stated Aileen Smith, chief operating officer at TM Forum.
“One of the primary objectives of this Catalyst project is to have areas such as revenue assurance and fraud prevention become an integrated part of new product planning and risk reduction initiatives, taking them from a reactive approach to a proactive one that minimizes and prioritizes problems based on the probability and impact of their occurrence. To do this, the Catalyst team set out to build a standard model and best practice that measures the overall financial impact of potential risks, so that service providers can better prioritize and budget their activities according to their financial impact.”
WeDo Technologies and the other Catalyst participants will be showcasing the following key components of their initiative in Management World Americas’ Forumville area of the expo floor:
“Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management should no longer be viewed in isolation,” stated João Resende, Vice President for Product Development at WeDo Technologies. “This Catalyst shows how solution vendors are working to integrate these areas into their tools in order to help service providers better understand the risks underlying the release of new technologies. This broader picture helps protect revenue and optimize business by providing valuable data to practically every part of the organization.”
