Troops serving our country are getting kind letters of support from local elementary school students.
More than 10,000 letters will be presented to uniformed Airmen from Nellis Air Force Base Tuesday.
The ceremony will be at CT Sewell Elementary School at 8:45 a.m.
The letters were written by students at 23 participating Henderson elementary schools and will be sent to Operation Gratitude.
They will be placed in care packages for deployed troops, Wounded Warriors and veterans.
The project started last year when Darla Pellersels challenged Henderson area schools to write 5,000 letters for troops deployed over the holidays.
The mother of a third grade student received 5,806 letters back.
This year, Pellersels challenged the schools to write 7,500 letters, and so far, she has received more than 10,000 back.
