LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
The city of Las Vegas will rededicate Freedom Park to include the name of former councilman Gary Reese.
City dignitaries, including Councilman Bob Coffin, will hold a ceremony at the park on Monday, Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. in recognition of the former Ward 3 representative.
In naming the park at 850 N. Mojave Road, the city said Reese remains committed to the "betterment of the community for many years."
Reese served as the Ward 3 councilman for 16 years.
The park was constructed in 1972 and originally dedicated to those who served in the military. Reese is a veteran, the city said.
