The executive director of Nevada's chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union announced his resignation on Monday.
According to the ACLU of Nevada, Dr. Dane Claussen is stepping down from the position effective Jan. 31, 2013.
Claussen cited personal issues requiring his relocation from Las Vegas.
"The Nevada ACLU Affiliate is grateful for Dane's dedication and commitment to protecting and advancing the rights of all Nevadans during his tenure," said Robert N. Chester, ACLU of Nevada President. "The Board of Directors will continue to build the organization's capacity and resources as we begin the search for a new Executive Director."
Claussen was named executive director in January, 2011.
