LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A Las Vegas store clerk was confronted at gunpoint when he chased after a shoplifter, police said.
According to Las Vegas Metro police, the incident happened in the 700 block of N. Nellis Boulevard on Nov. 12.
Police said a suspect went inside, grabbed an alcoholic beverage for purchase and approached the register.
After distracting the clerk, the suspect fled the store with the item, police said.
The clerk gave chase but was confronted at gunpoint by the fleeing suspect and a second man, according to police.
Metro said the clerk returned to the business after the confrontation.
Police described the fleeing suspect as a black man, 18-25 years old, 5'7" to 5'9", 150-160 pounds and black hair. He was last seen wearing a purple and yellow Lakers hat, black jacket, black t-shirt, dark jeans and white shoes. Police also said he had a large diamond in his left ear, thin mustache and goatee.
Police described the other suspect also as a black man, 18-25 years old, 5'10" to 6' with black hair and brown eyes. Police said he wore all black clothing.
