Authorities released the name of a 31-year-old Las Vegas man who died after a fall in Red Rock Canyon over the weekend.
The Clark County Coroner's office said Nathan Paul McKinney died of multiple blunt force trauma as a result of a fall from height.
Metro police received a call from a female hiker about 2 p.m. about a man who was injured at Calico Basin on Nov. 24. A family member said McKinney was found by his sister-in-law.
Police and the Clark County Fire Department responded and found the man deceased.
A family member of McKinney said he and several other relatives were on a group hike at the time of the fall. None of McKinney's family members saw the fall, but they rendered aid to Nathan until first responders arrived, the family member said.
The cause and distance of the fall are both unknown at this time.
Funeral arrangements were also pending, according to McKinney's family.
