HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -

Henderson police have yet to determine if a man was in a crosswalk when he was struck and killed by a vehicle late Tuesday night.

According to police, the 56-year-old pedestrian was attempting to cross Boulder Highway near Major Avenue when he was struck by a Chevrolet sedan about 11:10 p.m.

Police said the southbound sedan driven by 35-year-old Chandra Gibson passed through the intersection on a green light at the time of the collision.

The pedestrian died at the scene, police said.

Henderson PD also said Gibson submitted to blood testing but did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The Clark County Coroner's office was expected to release the male victim's name and cause of death.

Boulder Highway was closed for more than three hours following the collision, police said.

As of this accident, Henderson police has investigated 14 traffic-related fatalities this year.
