PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Two people have been arrested for deliberately setting fire to their apartment, police said.

Authorities said they were able to evacuate the building and extinguish the flames after other people living in the apartment complex called 911 early Wednesday morning.

Officials said inside the apartment where the fire started, the couple was acting strange and appeared to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Police said the two smeared ketchup and other liquids throughout the apartment and set fire to sticks and debris.

The man and woman were both arrested.

No one was hurt in the blaze.

Fire officials have not released a damage estimate at this time.
