For the seventh consecutive year, Clark County Commissioner Lawrence Weekly will hand out Thanksgiving dinners to some of the neediest families in the valley.
100 complete meals will be handed out on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at the Martin Luther King Community Resource Center in North Las Vegas.
The recipient families have already been selected and received coupons at senior centers and community facilities.
"Thanksgiving is a time for all of us to be thankful for what we have and share our good fortune with our friends and neighbors," Weekly said. "Too many families in our community are facing difficult times right now. Hopefully, we can lighten their load and take some of the stress out of their holiday plans."
Each family will receive one turkey, stuffing, canned vegetable, cranberry sauce, yams, mashed potatoes, rolls, marshmallows and a pie.
