'Blitz' toy drive collecting items for foster kids

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A local business is ramping up efforts to get as many new toys and gift cards collected for foster children in Las Vegas.

In a so-called "Super Blitz Toy Drive," Gavish Real Estate is spearheading a two-week drive to collect items for CASA Foundation's Angel Tree Event.

In the annual event, Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) provides thousands of children with toys and gift cards.

"This is the least we can do when we are blessed with so much," said Gavish broker Mike Gorelick. "I would feel awful to know I didn't do my part and a child went without during the holidays."

The drive's goal is to provide each child with at least $50 in toys and gift cards. About 2,400 children have already registered for the distribution event.

Drop off locations are in Summerlin and Green Valley. The collection period is from Nov. 19-30.
