Metro to deliver Thanksgiving meals

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

It's an annual tradition. Metro officers will be armed with turkeys and all the fixings on Monday, treating hundreds of families throughout the valley to complete Thanksgiving meals.

For the past 16 years, Metro has assembled holiday baskets, filled with turkeys, dressing, potatoes, gravy, vegetables and other items for distribution.

This year, roughly 500 families located within all eight Metro Area Commands will receive a turkey dinner delivery.

The baskets will be assembled beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Monday. Officers will pick up the completed baskets and begin delivering them to families at 7:45 a.m.
