PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A man who police said was choked out by a north Portland adult video store worker now faces robbery charges.
Portland police officers rushed to Fat Cobra Video on North Interstate Avenue when the store's alarm went off Friday at 6:49 a.m.
On the way, officers learned from the store's owner that an employee was holding a robbery suspect until police arrived.
The owner said his worker choked the suspect into submission and then stood over him with a billy club.
Police and medical technicians arrived and said the suspect was conscious and breathing when he was taken to a hospital.
General Bell, 56, was later booked into the Multnomah County Jail on the charge of robbery.
Investigators said Bell simulated having a weapon before the worker choked him into submission. He suffered no injuries as a result of the choke hold, according to police.
