HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -

Henderson police have identified the man who was shot by SWAT officers on Wednesday afternoon at the Albertsons grocery store at Lake Mead Parkway and Boulder Highway.

Jake E. Goldsborough, 36, remains in critical conditions and under guard at Sunrise Hospital. He has been proxy booked on three counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

Police on Thursday provided a picture of Goldsborough, a mugshot from 2003. Police also provided a picture of the pellet gun Goldsborough was carrying, which officers said was made to look like a semi-automatic handgun. Both pictures accompany this story.

Goldsborough was shot by SWAT officers at about 4:15 p.m. after barricading himself inside the rear restroom of Albertsons. He emerged from restroom pointing the gun at officers and failed to obey orders to drop the weapon, police said.

The incident began at around 3:45 p.m. when an employee of the store was confronted by Goldsborough in the restroom. Another person indicated he had a child with him.

Police didn't locate a child but found an infant-sized doll along with Goldsborough's belongings on the restroom's changing table.

Police said Goldsborough has arrest records in Nevada, California and Washington. Henderson police arrested him in 2003 for smashing windows out of a parked car.

The SWAT officers who opened fire have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
