Schools placed on lockdown in northeast Vegas

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Three schools in the northeast end of the Las Vegas valley were placed on lockdown as a stabbing suspect was being sought.

Las Vegas Metro police received a call of the stabbing about 12:40 p.m. Wednesday in the 6500 block of Pipe Spring Drive, near Carey Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard.

According to police, the female suspect was last seen heading towards Sunrise Mountain High School.

Clark County School District police placed the high school, as well as William Bailey Middle School and Hellen Herr Elementary School, on lockdown.

A description on the suspect was not immediately disclosed.
