Families celebrating newest members for Adoption Day

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Local families will celebrate and finalize adoptions Thursday at the Department of Family Services Gymnasium.

It's Clark County's 11th annual Adoption day, where 61 children will officially join their new families.

Participants will enjoy breakfast, games, prizes, and musical entertainment during an hour-long reception starting at 8 a.m.

Afterwards, 42 families will finalize their adoptions in various courtrooms.

National Adoption Day is celebrated across the United States in November.

Thousands of children are placed in their permanent homes during this time.
