BOULDER CITY, NV (FOX5) -
Work has begun on a $1.2 million project at Lake Mead National Recreation to enhance the Boulder Beach area.
Upon completion, visitors will be treated to a new boat wash station, a new asphalt parking lot for the fish cleaner and comfort station, 1,000 feet of new asphalt on Horsepower Cover Road and a rehabilitated parking lot and wall foundation at the Lakeview Overlook.
The Lakeview Overlook will be closed to accommodate construction from Dec. 7 through March 1. The trail is expected to remain open.
The entire project is slated to be completed by April.
Funding for the project was provided by a joint agreement between the Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act and Fish Wildlife.
