Bridge construction to shut down I-15 lanes

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

Drivers are urged to remember construction on the North 5th Street Bridge over Interstate 15 will result in lane closures on Wednesday and Thursday.

Several northbound and southbound lanes of I-15 will be closed from Lake Mead Boulevard to Cheyenne Avenue beginning at 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Those lanes will reopen to traffic beginning at 5 a.m. on Thursday.

On Thursday evening, several northbound lanes of I-15 along the same stretch will close at 9 p.m. and reopen at 5:30 a.m. on Friday.

Work on the $30 million bridge improvement project is slated to be completed in 2013. Funding comes from the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada.
