A driver heading southbound on Interstate 15 outside of the Las Vegas valley was hospitalized after being shot in the head while on the freeway.
According to Nevada Highway Patrol, troopers received a call of a man shot on the southbound I-15 near Mile Marker 70, near Valley of Fire State Park, just after 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Troopers arrived to find the victim in a vehicle with a bullet hole in the back of his head, NHP said.
The victim, who was talking and coherent after the shooting, told NHP he was driving when a gold Suburban or Tahoe drove next to his vehicle. The man reportedly heard a pop at that moment, NHP said.
The driver was taken to University Medical Center. His condition was not disclosed.
Authorities did not disclose an exact description of the other vehicle involved in the incident.
