Inauguration ticket lottery open to Nevada residents

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

People in Nevada have the opportunity to attend the Presidential Inauguration set for January.

The office of Sen. Harry Reid, D-NV, announced a drawing will take place that is open to his constituents in the Silver State.

Officials said Reid's office, along with each other Senate office, received a limited number of tickets to the swearing-in ceremony, which is set for Jan. 21, 2013.

Reid's office said the tickets are free-of-charge, but travel expenses and accommodation must be handled by the individual who will receive the ticket.

Officials also noted no other organization has received legitimate inaugural tickets for distribution.

In order to be eligible, Reid's office said, Nevada residents can enter at the Senator's website through Dec. 7.

The drawing will be held on Dec. 10.
