LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

An investigation of suspicious vehicles outside Creech Air Force Base forced U.S. 95 northwest of the Las Vegas valley to close early Monday.

A spokesperson for Creech AFB said tractor-trailers parked near the base's main gate prompted the closure about 3:45 a.m.

Nevada Highway Patrol closed the highway between State Routes 156 and 160 during the investigation.

Members of the Las Vegas Fire and Rescue's bomb squad determined the vehicles were safe and posed no threat, the Creech spokesperson said.

Two people were briefly detained, according to officials.

NHP Trooper Jeremie Elliott said roads re-opened some time after 6 a.m.
