Police: Disappearance of Vegas couple 'suspicious'

Homicide detectives have assumed a missing persons investigating involving a Las Vegas couple.

Las Vegas Metro police said the disappearance of Abby Roberts, 25, and Phillip Johnson, 27, was under suspicious circumstances.

Police noted Roberts' last known contact was on Sept. 29, while Johnson was last reportedly seen in Torrance, Calif. on Oct. 3.

Since Metro's Missing Person's Detail received the report of their disappearance on Oct. 9, attempts to locate them were unsuccessful, authorities said.

Metro's Homicide Section has taken over the investigation, police said.

Police described Roberts as a Samoan woman, 5'3" and about 125 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. Police also said she has tattoos with the names "Michael" and "Semba" on her wrists and the words "respect" and "loyalty" on her torso.

Police described Johnson as a black man, 5'5" and about 175 pounds. He has black hair with brown eyes. Police also said Johnson has a scar on his abdomen.

The two were last seen driving in an unregistered black 2012 Chevrolet Cruze.
