LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Las Vegas Metro police said a suspected drunk driver fatally struck a jaywalker and fled the scene before returning.
Metro reported the incident about 8:22 p.m. near W. Flamingo Road and S. Jones Boulevard.
According to Richard Strader with Metro's Fatal Detail, a 50-year-old pedestrian was crossing Jones outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by the driver. Police say the pedestrian hit the hood of the vehicle, and vaulted over the rooftop before landing on the roadway.
The driver has been identified as 41-year-old Roland Biscailuz.
Strader said Biscailuz continued driving after the incident. Biscailuz returned to the scene about 15 minutes after the collision, according to police.
Police said Biscailuz was suspected of driving drunk at the time of the incident.
Strader said Biscailuz is expected to be charged with felony hit-and-run and driving under the influence causing death.
The collision is the 89th traffic related fatality in LVMPD's jurisdiction in 2012, LVMPD reports.
