LAS VEGAS (FOX5/AP) -

The polygamist family that stars in the TLC reality show "Sister Wives" spoke at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for a panel discussion on plural marriage, and their new life in Nevada Monday.

Kody Brown and his four wives - Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn were part of a discussion led by UNLV assistant professor and licensed marriage and family therapist Markie Blumer.

Blumer presented an overview on research about polygamy before a discussion led by therapist Coreen Haym began.

The Brown family previously lived in Utah, but has since moved to Las Vegas. They are challenging Utah's polygamist marriage ban in court.

"Vegas has actually been a very receptive city. It's very tolerant. Very open," said Kody Brown. "It's got a good sense of community, as well."

In an interview after their panel discussion at UNLV, the Brown family told FOX5 that they had fun at the event Monday evening.

The Brown family plans to stay in Las Vegas.
