Metro police investigating auto-pedestrian accident Downtown

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Metro police responded to an early morning auto-pedestrian accident in Downtown Las Vegas.

The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. near Las Vegas Boulevard and Bridger Avenue.

Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated a 1962 Chevrolet Impala, driven by 39-year-old Francisco Vega, was traveling east on Bridger Avenue making a left turn to northbound Las Vegas Boulevard when the front of the vehicle struck a pedestrian that was crossing the roadway.

The pedestrian, Constance Corrigan, was crossing inside of a marked crosswalk, according to police.

Corrigan was taken to University Medical Center Trauma in critical condition.

Vega remained on scene.
