A head-on collision involving three vehicles seriously injured at least one person and brought traffic to a standstill on northbound I-215 at Lone Mountain Road Monday.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, a gold Subaru, white Volkswagen and a third vehicle collided at around 3:29 p.m.

One person was taken to a hospital. Troopers believe alcohol may have been involved but that is unconfirmed.

Traffic was diverted around Cheyenne Avenue for several hours as the wreckage was cleared.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
