Commuters who frequent Tropicana Avenue between Paradise Road and Koval Lane might hit more traffic than usual next week.
The Department of Transportation will close the right westbound lane along that route from 9 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22. Workers will be repairing a drainage structure. Three lanes in the westbound direction will remain open throughout the road's maintenance.
Destructive floodwaters that swept through the valley last month, as well as a recent fire, are to blame for the damaged pipes and other infrastructure in the drainage channel. The extensive damage requires NDOT to excavate and remove part of the infrastructure in order to rebuild the roadway.
NDOT and Clark County are funding the project, which is expected to cost approximately $134,000.
