Posted: Updated:

Approximately 7,000 Southern Nevada breast cancer survivors, volunteers, businesses and community members will unite Saturday to fight breast cancer and save lives during the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K and walk.

The non-competitive event raises awareness and funds to end breast cancer by finding cures and supporting programs and services for all people facing the disease.

An estimated 305 Nevada women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and approximately 88 are estimated to die from the disease.

The 13th annual Las Vegas Making Strides walk is one of more than 300 events being held across the country this year.

Participants can visit www.StridesLasVegas.com to join or start a team.
