Teens charged in Vegas confrontation, stabbing

Two people were sent to local hospitals after a stabbing east of the Las Vegas Strip on Wednesday.

Las Vegas Metro police said an altercation happened just after 8:45 a.m. at the Pine Hills Lodge Apartments in the 1500 block of Karen Avenue near Maryland Parkway.

Police said the received a call from a female stating she had been beaten in a confrontation. When officers arrived, they located the female victim along with two males who were suffering from stab wounds.

Police believe the female victim was beaten by two males outside her apartment. When the female victim retreated to her residence, the suspects followed and continued to beat her. Alerted to the situation, a friend of the female victim's came to her aid.

That friend was stabbed in a confrontation with the suspects, as was one of the suspects. That friend was taken to UMC Trauma where he was treated for minor injuries.

Police arrested 19-year-old suspect Darnell Williams and a 15-year-old for the crime. Williams, also stabbed in the confrontation, was treated at Sunrise Hospital. He was later released and booked into Clark County Detention Center where he faces charged of burglary, battery and child abuse.
