One person was taken into custody after a reported barricaded suspect call in east Las Vegas.

According to Metro, officers received a call in the area of Boulder Highway and Tropicana Avenue about 11:30 a.m.

Police said a witness reported seeing someone chase a woman in the area.

Officers were led to an extended stay complex, where they saw someone in a window of a unit, Metro said.

Metro said officers tried making contact with the person, but that person wouldn't answer the door to police. Officers reported the person may have had a weapon, according to Metro.

Police evacuated the area and SWAT team members were sent to the complex.

Metro reported an arrest as a result of the standoff. The suspect has been identified as James Kalama, who is charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. Police recovered what they believe to be a fully automatic firearm from the scene of the barricade.

Police did not say if there were any injuries in the situation.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
