(RNN) – It's inconceivable The Princess Bride was released 25 years ago.
And yes, that word means what I think it means.
Although not many have built up a tolerance to iocane powder, almost everyone can quote some lines from the movie:
"As you wish." "Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya; you killed my father, prepare to die." "You are the Brute Squad."
It's a kissing movie with humor, sword fights, a fire swamp, rodents of unusual size, giants who rhyme, six-fingered villains and excellent one-liners. Some of which probably annoy clergy during wedding rehearsals, because "mawwiage is what bwings us together…"
"I'm lucky to have made a movie that still resonates," said Cary Elwes, who played Westley the farm boy turned Dread Pirate Roberts, on CNN's Starting Point. "I still get fan mail from all over the world."
To celebrate the anniversary and to raise money for charity, cast members and director Rob Reiner are asking fans to donate to Mercy Corps - instead of a Battle of Wits to the Death.
Elwes and Princess Buttercup herself, Robin Wright, appear in a video with Reiner titled Shameless Promotion of The Princess Bride 25th Anniversary, But Also a Way to Help Mercy Corps Which Makes Us Feel a Little Less Like Shills.
The charity, Mercy Corps, helps people in areas affected by conflict or natural disasters rebuild their economies.
"Mercy Corps is the ideal organization to support in conjunction with the anniversary, because like the characters in the movie, Mercy Corps prevails against all odds to make a difference in the world," Elwes said in the video.
Those who donate can receive an "authentic" Rob Reiner Beard hair, a Mostly Dead Death Certificate signed by Miracle Max, movie posters with alternative movie titles, such as Hot Fire Swamp Rodents, a jar containing the whisper "As you wish" from the "sweet, sweet lips" of Elwes, or a script signed by Reiner, Elwes and Wright.
The first 100 people to donate at each giving level will receive a series of deleted story board scenes.

Have fun storming the castle.
