LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Campaign officials said President Obama is expected to be entrenched in the Las Vegas-area in preparation of his debate with Mitt Romney on Wednesday.

The prep work comes after more than 11,000 people gathered at Desert Pines High School for a chance to see Obama in person on Sunday.

Obama's campaign event kicks-off a three day stay in Las Vegas, as the President prepares for his first debate with GOP challenger Mitt Romney Wednesday in Colorado.

Sunday the President discussed how he wants to grow the economy, create middle-class jobs and restore middle-class economic security. He also talked about the Oct. 6 online voter registration deadline as well as the Oct. 16 deadline to register to vote in person.

The crowd began booing as the President compared his policies to those proposed by Romney. "Don't boo. Vote," the President told the crowd.

Grammy award-winning Mexican rock band Maná, huge in the Spanish speaking community, performed ahead of Obama's remarks. The campaign is reaching out to Hispanic voters as the presidential contest remains tight in most swing states, including Nevada.

Mitt Romney's wife Ann will speak at a public event in Henderson Monday. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-FL, is scheduled to speak at a rally on behalf of Romney, Tuesday.
