LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Valley residents are lining up for a chance to see President Barack Obama in person at Sunday's event at Desert Pines High School.
The president may be the headliner, but his musical guest is creating just as much excitement.
Maná is a Grammy award-winning Mexican rock band that is huge in the Spanish speaking community.
Alissa Guzman says she grew up with Maná and went to their Las Vegas concert just a couple of weeks ago.
"They are pretty big and important," Guzman said. "They reach out to a lot of people. It's just exciting to see them come out with Obama and it's something we really look forward to. It's creating a buzz for the Spanish community not to just come see them but support Obama as well."
FOX 5 Political Analyst Mitch Fox says bringing Maná in could attract some voters who were disengaged from politics and get them to the polls.
"There's going to be thousands of people that show up at this event with Maná being there," Fox said. "If Obama picks up a few hundred more votes, that could be the difference. So it's a smart move on his part."
The president is hoping to capitalize on that popularity in a swing state where the Hispanic vote could make the difference.
