Southern Nevada Health District offering flu shots

Posted: Updated:
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Runny noses, fever and body aches are all too common during the winter months. The Southern Nevada Health District is making sure those flu-like symptoms keep their distance, by offering flu shots to the public as soon as next week.

The health district recommends that everyone 6 months of age and older get a yearly flu shot, as well as those individuals at high risk of complications arising from the flu. Those people include children younger than five, adults 65 years of age and older, pregnant women and those with certain medical conditions.

Shots will be given out at the health district's new location at 330 S. Valley View Blvd. Regular-dose shots are $28. High-dose shots for people 65 years and older are $56.

For more information on other immunization locations, visit the Southern Nevada Health District's website at www.SNHD.info.
