LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Two people were hospitalized after a collision involving a delivery truck and a sedan on Friday.

Las Vegas Metro police reported the accident at Jones Boulevard and Windmill Lane about 5:45 a.m.

According to detectives, a 2006 Toyota Corolla driven by 21-year-old Kim Kyung was eastbound on Windmill when it failed to stop at a posted stop sign.

The vehicle was struck by a delivery truck that was traveling northbound with no stop sign, police said.

Authorities said the two drivers involved in the accident were transported to University Medical Center.

The driver in the Corolla sustained critical head injuries, Metro said. The delivery truck driver, who was identified as 38-year-old Gregory Cole, had minor injuries.

The intersection was shut down for several hours following the wreck, police said.
