A Las Vegas mother who was recovering from burn injuries due to a house fire last weekend has died.
The family told FOX5 Claudia Parga passed around 11 Saturday morning.
"It hurt you know when I seen her right there in the bed, and I didn't want to leave the bed, because she was there and I didn't want to go, because I still don't believe she's gone," said Parga's brother Jesus Robles.
Two children and two adults sustained severe burns after a fire erupted in an east Las Vegas neighborhood on Sept. 22, 2012.
Another adult was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
Parga's husband, Leopoldo Rodriguez, dashed through the fire, picked up two children and ran out of the home.
Rodriguez succumbed to his injuries a few days after the blaze.
The two children are still listed in critical condition at UMC.
According to the Clark County Fire Department, the fire started at their home near Maryland Parkway and Hacienda Avenue after a deep fryer was knocked over and the oil inside ignited. That created a wall of fire.
"I was in my room at the time, and I just heard screaming (and) yelling," said Parga's sister Lisa Robles.
For the past week Parga had been battling her burns sustained while trying to rescue her 4-year-old son Omar, and 4-year-old niece Celeste.
"She ran out through the front door because she heard the kids, and she knew they were there," Jesus Robles recalled the horrific event.
At first the family expected Parga to survive.
"She was just fine the other day you know," Lisa Robles said.
"I'm just trying to cope with it right now and it's real hard," said Parga's father Humberto Robles.
The family is unsure on how they're going to pay for the funerals.
"Nobody expects this to happen, no family, so right now we're just trying to find out how we're going to do this," Jesus Robles told FOX5.
"Trying to see if the community can help us because my daughter just passed away this morning," Humberto Robles said.
Meanwhile both the kids remain in the hospital with burns on at least 40% of their bodies and are still on breathing tubes according to the family.
"(I) hope my niece and my nephew make it through because that's the ones I'm praying for now," Jesus Robles told FOX5.
Two dogs were also found dead at the scene.
The fire department says damage is estimated at $40,000.
The American Red Cross is assisting those displaced by the fire.
A bank account for the victims has been set up:
