Amos Cavallo (LVMPD)
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A bust at an east Las Vegas home led to the seizure of about 200 marijuana plants with a street value of more than $700,000.
According to Las Vegas Metro police, SWAT members and narcotics officers executed a search warrant at a home in the Las Vegas Country Club, a gated community on Vegas Valley Drive near Maryland Parkway and Desert Inn Road, about 5 p.m. Monday.
Police said the home was converted into a marijuana grow operation.
Police arrested suspect Amos Cavallo at the scene. Metro said he booked into Clark County Detention Center on charges of marijuana possession with intent to sell and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Cavallo was arrested in August, 2011 in Pahrump in connection with a $5.7 million marijuana bust.
Cavallo was charged with trafficking marijuana and methamphetamine, drug possession and theft of public property
Authorities at that time discovered 1,726 marijuana plants, more than four grams of methamphetamine and a number of unidentified prescription medications at Cavallo's home.
That find was in addition to another home where 243 plants were located.
Cavallo is scheduled to appear in court on June 12, 2013 in connection with the Pahrump arrest.
