A proposal on the November ballot may determine the future for two Henderson libraries.
Lydia Malcolm Library and Galleria Library could close if voters reject a tax initiative.
According to Henderson Libraries, income is down significantly and closures will go into effect on Mondays in order to save money.
In addition, thirty percent of the staff has been trimmed due to budget cuts.
"We want to make sure people know that we have consistent hours and that you can come in and expect services. We don't want to have any inconsistencies. That's not good for business. That's not good for us, and it's not good for our patrons," said Henderson Libraries Executive Director Tom Fay.
Closures on Mondays begin next week. Henderson Libraries said they will save approximately $100,000 a year with the closures in place.
