LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The suspect in a fatal hit-and-run accident Friday has been identified as Thomas Rossangel, 49.

Rossangel, suspected of fleeing the scene of an accident that killed Manuel Diaz, 58, on the 215 Beltway in west Las Vegas Friday, turned himself in to authorities Sunday.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol, the driver of a sport-utility vehicle crashed into the back of slowed traffic on the 215 near Sahara Avenue about 7 p.m. Friday.

The crash caused a chain reaction involving several vehicles, NHP said. Diaz was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Two other people were reportedly hospitalized with unknown injuries.
