The 11th annual World's Largest Ice Cream Social and backpack drive will take place at Village Square this Sunday, Sept. 23.
Cold Stone Creamery, Balloons with a Twist, and Make-A-Wish® Southern Nevada are partnering with Village Square to hold the event.
It will run from 2 to 5 p.m. at 9350 W. Sahara Ave., Suite 140, near the Sahara and Ft. Apache.
Proceeds from the carnival will benefit Make-A-Wish® Southern Nevada.
"We are so pleased and appreciative of Village Square for leading the efforts on this event that will help make the wishes of children in our community who are battling life-threatening medical conditions a reality," said Shelly Batten, development and event coordinator for Make-A-Wish® Southern Nevada.
Cold Stone Creamery will be giving out free 3-ounce scoops of an ice-cream flavor specially created by a "wish" child at the event.
Other businesses will also offer free old-fashioned soda samples, complimentary 5- to 10-minute chair massages, and discounted merchandise.
Participants who donate a new backpack will receive five activity tickets to enjoy entertainment like a rock wall slide, 40' obstacle course, pony rides and face painting.
No admission is required to attend, but tickets for all activities and Regal Cinemas popcorn are available to purchase for $1 each, $5 for 6 or $10 for 15.
