A woman was accused of kicking her six-year-old son and causing him to bleed out of his nose, according to authorities in northwest Arizona.

According to the Mohave County, Ariz. Sheriff's office, Cassandra Dawn Poleahla, 29, of Kingman, was arrested Thursday on a felony charge of child abuse per domestic violence.

The sheriff's office said a neighbor who was looking after Poleahla's son saw that she had kicked him after retrieving him.

Deputies were called to Poleahla's home. The sheriff's office said the woman refused to talk with deputies for about 15 minutes after they knocked on her door.

According to the sheriff's office, Poleahla told deputies she didn't think she kicked her that hard. Deputies also observed the child had dried blood on his nose.

According to deputies, she said she tripped on her son as she was trying to wake him at the neighbor's house.

Poleahla was transported to Mohave County Jail. Child Protective Services took custody of her three children.
