LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A teen with autism who wandered from his care home Wednesday night was found Thursday.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, Luis Cutie, 19, left his care home in the area of Bonanza Road and Nellis Boulevard about 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the teen was found in a wash area near Sloan Lane and Charleston Boulevard, about 2 miles from his care home.

The teen was transported to a local hospital for observation, Metro said.

Police said Cutie can only communicate in the form of grunts, groans or single words. He can understand both English and Spanish, police said.

Volunteers with Red Rock Search and Rescue assisted in the search for Cutie.
