LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Metro police quickly blocked off Margo Drive and began to investigate the eastside neighborhood Tuesday morning. A 911 call was reported at 8:48 a.m. describing a man who was severely injured.
"A male was severely injured and ultimately he was deceased were he laid. It appears there was some blood force trauma to the subject and an investigation began," said Lt. Ray Steiber with the Metropolitan Police Homicide Unit.
The victim's body was discovered in the front yard of his home. After collecting information from several neighbors, detectives were able to make an arrest.
"One of the residents of this particular house is believed to be responsible for the murder of the man that was found in the front yard," added Steiber.
Little information is known about the suspect, their relationship or the weapon that was used in the murder - a harsh reality that had some neighbors shaken up.
"A little nervous that I have my little young one here. I am going to keep my eyes pealed," said Carmel Jackson, a local neighbor.
"There is a lot of violence out here. There is a lot of homeless people and a lot of druggies," said Erick Silva, who lives next to the victim's home.
For now, detectives are still collecting all the pieces in this case.
"This case is currently under investigation. We do believe that possibly both parties that are involved did reside together in the residence, but the type of relationship they had is still under investigation," added Steiber.
