LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

According to Metro police, a bank robbery Tuesday afternoon involved a bomb threat.

Police said that at about 4:25 Tuesday afternoon, a suspect entered a U.S. Bank inside a Vons grocery store located on E. Windmill Lane near Bermuda Road.

The robber entered the bank with a suitcase which he claimed contained an explosive device. The man exited the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

When police arrived, they noticed a suspicious vehicle and quickly took a man into custody. However, a search of that man's home turned up nothing and police do not believe that man is connected to Tuesday's robbery. Rather, they believe the man they took into custody fled from them because of outstanding warrants related to unrelated crimes.
