NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -
Crews will need six weeks to complete a sewer upgrade at a North Las Vegas intersection.
Officials said work on a wash box culvert will shut down the intersection of Lake Mead Boulevard and Pecos Road for six weeks, beginning on Sept. 24.
Detours are planned along Civic Center Drive on the west, Las Vegas Boulevard and Cheyenne on the north, Lamb Boulevard on the east and Owens Avenue on the south.
The $24.2 million project is being funded by the Clark County Regional Flood Control District and the Bureau of Land Management.
Officials said the project will improve flood control and enhance the wash's capacity.
Alternate routes are also planned on Carey Avenue, Walnut Road, James and Palmer streets.
