The driver charged with causing the deaths of four people in a wreck at a Las Vegas bus stop was released from treatment Friday and placed in police custody.

According to a hospital spokesperson, Gary Lee Hosey, Jr., 23, had been treated at Sunrise Hospital after being involved in a crash on Spring Mountain Road, near Decatur Boulevard, on Thursday.

While in the hospital for a reported collapsed lung and broken back, Hosey was charged in absentia for driving under the influence causing death. The accident also injured eight people.

According to Metro police, Hosey also had a lengthy record with authorities, facing a number of charges in the past year.

Some of the charges Hosey faced in the past included marijuana possession in April, 2011 and January, 2012; obstructing an officer in July, 2011; and larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny last month.

Hosey was ordered for an initial hearing on Sept. 17 in Las Vegas Justice Court.

The hospital also said a male victim remains to be treated in critical condition, as of Friday.
