A segment of a tunnel trail at the Lake Mead National Recreation Area is expected to stay closed through late September.
The National Park Service said a quarter-mile segment of the Historic Railroad Tunnel Trail was closed to reseal the Hoover Dam Parking Garage.
Hikers will not be able to access the dam from the trail, officials said.
The closure began on Wednesday and will run through Sept. 29. The nearly four-mile trail spans from Lakeshore Road to the Hoover Dam Parking Garage. Rangers said the trail is the only section of the Hoover Dam Railroad system not highly disturbed or under water.
The remainder of the trail is still open.
