One Nevada Credit Union to hold second free community shred event

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

One Nevada Credit Union will hold a special Free Shred Day event next month.

It's designed to raise awareness about identity theft while helping residents.

The community-wide shred event takes place at One Nevada's Sunrise branch near Charleston and Nellis on Oct. 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Assured Document Destruction will be on-site to safely dispose of personal paper documents.

These types of shredding services usually cost around $0.75 per pound.

The event is free and open to the public.

Attendees are encouraged to bring up to three boxes or bags of documents for shredding.

No boxes or containers of any kind may be left behind.

Participants are required to stay with their items during the event.

No one is allowed to just drop anything off.

"We are very happy to offer this free event for our community. When you securely dispose of your sensitive documents, the risk of identity theft decreases dramatically," said One Nevada Branch Manager Rebecca Albrecht.
